Remote support.
Free. Simple. Yours.

Help your parents with their Android phone from your browser. Our free hosted service is coming soon. You can already download the source code and run your own RemotePocket server.

I built RemotePocket to help my parents without asking them to approve every connection after we set it up together.

Source on GitHub

Coming soon Registration and sign-in for the public service are not open yet. The source code is already available on GitHub.

Free hosted service

Your account.
Your devices.

At launch, you will be able to create an account in the RemotePocket app and pair the phones you want to help with. The hosted service will manage the server for you.

Create your account

Registration and sign-in will be available in the web app at launch.

Pair your phone

Install Android software and use a code from your account.

Help from your browser

Open a session with the device password.

We are preparing the free public service. You will be able to create your account when it launches.

Getting started

From your account
to your first session.

These steps apply to your own installation and, at launch, to the public service. Use the web app on your computer and the Android app on the phone you want to help with.

  1. Open the web app

Create your account or sign in. You can open the app directly from a shared link. For password recovery, add and verify your email address.

  2. Pair the phone

Install the Android app, enter the server address and a pairing code from the web app, then choose a separate device password. Enable the accessibility service on the phone.

  3. Start helping

When the phone appears online, enter its device password and open a session. View the screen, tap, swipe and type in supported fields.

Set it up together, once

Screen viewing requires Android 11 or newer. The phone must be online, unlocked, with the accessibility service running and remote control enabled. Setup needs the device user’s permission; no new approval is required for each session.

If Android stops the service or the phone locks, someone may need to act on the device. App and device restrictions still apply.

Made to lend a hand

Help your family

Configure the phone together, then help from wherever you are.

A free way to begin

The hosted service is planned to offer free access. Capacity and session limits apply.

Keep control

Manage your paired devices from your account. Pause access from the phone whenever needed.

Free software

Your own server.
Your choice.

GNU GPL license

RemotePocket is licensed under GPL-3.0-or-later. The license is included with the project.

An independent installation

You can run the backend and web console on your own server or hosting provider. Configure Android to connect to that installation.

Source code and setup

The source code for the server, web console and Android app is available on GitHub, together with installation instructions.

How connections work

Know where
your session goes.

The server connects you

Screen images and commands pass through the RemotePocket server between your browser and the phone.

Choose who runs the server

The hosted service will use a server operated by RemotePocket. With your own installation, you choose and manage the server.

Account and activity data

The server stores accounts, paired devices and activity history to operate the service. With your own installation, the server administrator manages this data.

On the roadmap

The next steps.

Android is supported today. These features are planned for later releases.

Planned

iOS support

Support for iOS is planned. Available features will depend on what the platform permits.

Planned

More server capacity

Support for multiple server instances is planned. The current release runs on a single instance.
